| this is probably the most embarrassing moment of my life. i left my bag in the classroom and my professor happens to get it. my diary was there and all of my the things that would tell who am i was all there. when i got my bag back, my professor was smirking... he now knows all the things about me. the bad thing about it is he is using the thing he knows against me. by the way he is my instructor to two subjects that i am currently taking up. i can wait till the term ends! | | |
| Last May 29-30, I attended my second leadership training and workshop in MMLDC, Antipolo, Rizal. As usual I met a lot of new and interesting people. The training was conducted by Boy Bordeos. He’s quite good and I learned many new things from him.
Primarily, that training was for the incoming batch of the IIEE-CSC national officers. Meaning, I’ll be leaving my position soon. I felt happy and sad at the same time while in that place. Happy because the new incoming batch is partly our product and we formed them. It’s like passing the thrown to your successor. Sad because I’ll be leaving the council and I might not see my former co-officers again (as in all of them). I will also miss the office that housed us for almost one whole year.
Anyway, this last June 5 (Saturday), I did not attend my TRANSMISSION class because the new set of officers will be having their election. Of course I want to see how the election will go and I even thought that we (former officers) will be facilitating that event. To my surprise the student affairs committee blocked us from entering the election room because we did some irregularities at the workshop proper. It means that it was our punishment. Of the entire thing that we have done for the council the reward that we got is emotional burden from our handlers. I really feel so down upon leaving the office and the only thing that I can do is wish the succeeding batch the best of luck and divine guidance for the rest of the year.

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Louis Leithold, who wrote one of the most widely used calculus textbooks and helped change the way the subject is taught, has died. He was 80.
Leithold was found dead April 29 at his Los Angeles home by the parent of a worried student. The coroner's office said he died of natural causes.
Leithold wrote "The Calculus," which became a standard text and was credited with changing the way the subject is studied. The book, first published in 1968, is widely used in high schools and universities and is in its seventh printing.
He was 72 when he declined to retire and instead launched a calculus program at Malibu High School after being approached by a teacher.
"He inspired you to do mathematics. His face would just light up," said student Matthew Mesher, 17.
--A life well lived indeed.
I loved Calculus because of his book. I'm not really that gung-ho about math but it was really fun to use his book and it still remains as my favorite textbook ( I have 2 copies of TC7-- I thought my first copy was missing so I bought another copy immediately!) I don't know if others share the same impression but the subject matter in TC is presented in such a way that students will not be scared of calculus.

| Heart - Alone Lyrics I hear the ticking of the clock I'm lying here the room's pitch dark I wonder where you are tonight No answer on the telephone And the night goes by so very slow Oh I hope that it won't end though Alone Till now I always got by on my own I never really cared until I met you And now it chills me to the bone How do I get you alone How do I get you alone You don't know how long I have wanted to touch your lips and hold you tight, oh You don't know how long I have waited and I was going to tell you tonight But the secret is still my own and my love for you is still unknown Alone Till now I always got by on my own I never really cared until I met you And now it chills me to the bone How do I get you alone How do I get you alone How do I get you alone How do I get you alone Alone, alone
